Welcome to the World Family Organization work in 2007!

Dear Members, Friends and Visitors,

Welcome to the 2007 World Family Organization website!

In the first place we like to wish to all our members and friends a very prosperous year, full of productive and self-satisfying work. May peace and justice prevailed in our world.

The Presidency Office located in Brazil is returning from our summer holidays, after a very deserved rest that followed the intensive work that our staff performed for the successful results of the World Family Summit +2 held at Dead Sea, Jordan last December. Please visit the specific website where you can watch the different sessions that were transmitted live and are still available.

After the Summit we held our annual General Assembly Session, which was also very fruitful, and the results of our discussions and decisions will reflect in more substantial programs and actions in the different fields of our work in a very near future.

Regarding our contribution to the United Nations work, we are committed to include the "family perspectives" in each one of the major policies and programs involving youth as stated on the World Program on Action for Youth, the Youth Employment Network, the World Program on Aging and the implementation of the World Program Concerning the Disabled Persons.

Another strong commitment for 2007 is the implementation of the Declaration of the World Family Summit +2, according to the recommendations of the participating delegations. The first steps are already in course: the Declaration will be presented at the ECOSOC Commission for Social Development to be held at the UN Headquarters, New York from February 7th to 14th, and in early July to the ECOSOC High Level Segment in Geneva.

The year of 2006 was a very important year to the new elected members of the Executive Board. The team achieved a great harmony and the work done during the year brought many accomplishments. Now with the team completed by the new elected advisors we are expecting to finalize the work in regulating the new categories of membership as well as to take concrete steps to implement the National and Regional structures of the Organization.

In this month of February we will review our website and when you visit us in the beginning of March I am sure that you will have a new vision of the World Family Organization and we will be waiting for your opinion and contribution.
