Family-related services create more time for families and lead to more economic growth as well. Families with children and dependants in need of care need a wide range of family-supporting services in order to reconcile family and working life. In Germany, the access to family-related services has already been facilitated. Nevertheless, the framework conditions must be improved further to create a more attractive offer. European comparison shows that other Member States face the same challenges and have already developed interesting approaches and solutions.
The international conference ‘Family-supporting Services in Europe: current challenges and developments’ will provide an opportunity to present and discuss current policy approaches and service concepts of European States. The participants will explore the topic in workshops: support schemes, organisation of supply and demand, conditions of employment and the role of enterprises. Therefore speakers from Belgium, France, Sweden and Italy are invited.
The aim of the conference is to promote the European-wide exchange between experts and to receive impulses for the national discussion in Germany.
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Seniors Citizens, Women and Youth, the German Association for Public and Private Welfare and the Institute for Social Work and Social Education would like to invite you to this conference. We would also appreciate if you could forward the invitation to anyone who might be interested. Attached you will find the program and registration form. Please send us your registration under indication of the workshop you would like to participate in until January 22, 2010.
The working languages of the conference are English, French and German. Translation will be provided. |
