  UNESCO Forum on Gender Equality
   
  Within the framework of the Forum on Gender Equality, UNESCO’s Bureau of Strategic Planning is organizing a Round Table entitled “Beijing: 15 Years On”, on 19 October at UNESCO headquarters, Room IX, from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. Live webcast.
   
   
  Held on a regular basis, the UNESCO Forum on Gender Equality series is organized by the Division for Gender Equality of the Bureau of Strategic Planning. The seminars focus on the achievements and challenges in the field of gender equality within UNESCO’s five fields of competence. The objective is to raise awareness of the Priority Gender Equality and to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality.
  Organized by the Division for Gender Equality of the Bureau of Strategic Planning (BSP/GE), the initiative is in line with the designation of “Gender Equality” as one of UNESCO’s two global priorities in the new Medium-Term Strategy for 2008-2013.

7th Forum on Gender Equality 
Beijing: 15 Years After 
19 October 2009 - Room IX - 6 pm to 7.30 pm 

In collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of the United States of America, the Division for Gender Equality in the Bureau of Strategic Planning is organizing a Round Table within the framework of the “Forum on Gender Equality”. The event will be followed by a Reception. 

The Round Table, on the theme “Beijing: 15 Years After”, will explore the progress made in the twelve critical areas of action of the Beijing Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. 

The seminar will feature: 

Ambassador Melanne Verveer - US Global Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues 

Ambassador Irina Bokova - UNESCO Director-General elect 

Ambassador Shi Shuyun, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the People's Republic of China to UNESCO
