Press Conference announces officially the WFS+5

ANKARA, TURKEY - Following on from her last visit, the President of the World Family Organization, Dr. Deisi Kusztra, participated in a press conference in order to officially announce the World Family Summit +5, which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, from 4 to 6 December 2009.

Along with the new Minister of Women, Families, Children and Disabled of Turkey, H.E. Mrs. Selma Aliye Kavaf and the head of the General Directorate of Family and Social Researches, Dr. Aysen Gurcan, Dr. Deisi had the opportunity to outline the importance of the World Family Summit for Turkey, especially in this moment when its theme "Gender Equality" is one of the main focus on the country's agenda.

Minister Selma Kavaf, replacing H.E. Minister Nimet Çubukçu - who is now responsible for the Ministry of Education, made a speech *link where she expressed her full support in all the matters concerning the arrangements, organization and realization of the Summit and also answered to the journalists' questions.

Dr. Gurcan also highlighted the importance of the Istanbul Declaration. Once it is approved at the Summit, this document will be presented at the High-Level Segment of ECOSOC in 2010. After this presentation, the Istanbul Declaration becomes an official UN Document, translated in 6 languages, and is distributed as recommendations to governments all over the world.
