In too many countries, even where the Constitution or laws prohibits it, women are struggling to gender-based injustices such as equal access to education and health services, discrimination at work regarding payment and opportunities, domestic violence and lack of social protection, benefits and voice. This situation in the life-cycle is transmitted to the child-girl, perpetuating the lack of protection.
