Dr. Deisi Noeli Weber Kusztra

WFO President

Paris, August 12, 2005.

Excellencies,

Colleagues,

...................The World Family Organization is proud to partner with the United Nations, through the Department of Economic and Social Affairs/NGO-Section/UN-NGO-Informal Regional Network, and the Government of Sergipe State the World Family Summit +1.

...................In December 2004 the Government of China in partnership with the World Family Organization and the United Nations held the World Family Summit in China, in the framework of the Celebrations of the Tenth Anniversary of the International Year of the Family. After three days of discussions and deliberations, the over 300 delegations geographically represented approved unanimously the Sanya Declaration – For a Comprehensive Family Policy.

...................Participants also compromised themselves to work towards the implementation of the Sanya Declaration and, within a year, gather for the follow-up of the results and prepare a 2006-2015 Plan of Action, focusing the Millennium Development Goals in the Family Perspective.

...................The Government of Sergipe State, representing the smallest State of Brazil, took the audacious initiative of calling the World Family Summit +1 as its Host, on the theme “Investing in Development: Working the Millennium Development Goals at the Local Level and in the Family”.

...................This Summit will provide an unparalleled opportunity for international, national, regional and local authorities and communities to be exposed and interact with some of the world’s innovators in the Family Perspectives field.

...................The World Family Organization is honored to invite you to participate, contribute and experience this unique initiative, in Aracaju City, the Capital of Sergipe State, Brazil, from December 3 to 8, 2005.

...................The World Family Organization and the Sergipe Families look forward to welcome you in Aracaju.

Dr. Deisi Kusztra
President
