World Family Summit It is my great pleasure to inform you that the proposal to host the World Family Summit has been approved by the Chinese State Council. The Chinese government shows its great interest to the World Family Organization and feels honored to observe the Tenth Anniversary of the International Year of the Family (IYF) in China. On behalf of the National Population and Family Planning Comminssion of China, and also as a member of the WFO, I would like to express my warn welcome and definitve support to host the World Family Summit in China in December. Just as you mentioned, we believe, China, along with the support of the United Nations and all the WFO Governmental and Non-Governmental Members, this Summit will constitute the biggestpartnership towards making the present and the future world with more peace, security, justice, tolerance, solidarity, prosperity, and integrated by mobilizing and promoting family-friend focused public policies. We also hope, from this Summit, a 10 year (2005-2015) Plan of Action linking the benefits and contributions of the families to the Millenium Development Goals, the ICPD Poa and to the Development itself will be generated and presented to be adopted by the United Nations Members. From now on, my Chinese colleagues and I will make our endeavors to work with you and your team to make the Summit a great success.
