The World Family Organization and the Chinese Governement are jointly hosting the World Family Summit in China to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the International Year of Family and to provide a forum for the International Community to share experiences and implemanting the ICPD Program of Action and to promote the Families contribution to the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals following a multi-stakeholder approach.

Deadline for Registration: All Registrations have to reach the above addresses before: 20/11/2004 in order to allow us time to process the visa authorization.

Visa Requirement:

Please check that you have a valid passport for at least six months and if you need a visa to enter China.
If you need a visa to enter China please provide us with your passport details by filling in the participant´s registration form. As soon as we receive this details a visa authorization will be sent to you by the Summit´s Organizing Committee in China. Please apply together with the received visa authorization form, to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate, allowing adequate time for processing.

Travel Information:
Flight to and from Sanya

Participants can reach Sanya through most of the Asian metropolitan cities as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Seoul and Osaka. There are many daily flights reaching Sanya. Please check with your travel agent and book your flight as early as possible. If you prefer to transit in cities in China, you can also contact with the Travel Agency of Hainan Air, which has signed contract with the Organizing Committee.

Insurance:

The participants are expected to have and shall be responsable for their own insurance to cover for expenses related to medical treatment while on travel or in China when attending the Summit and the related events.

Languages:

Simultaneous interpretation in English, French, Arabic and Chinese will be provided. Official Documentation will be available in English and French.

Field Visit:

Participants are requested to choose one of the options of a one full day field trip. Please indicate your preference in the registration form.

1 - Qionghai-WenChang: Family and Health Care.
2 - Wanning: Gender equality and Girls Care Project.
3 - Sanya: Family and Culture .
4 - Baoting-Wuzhi Mountain: Happy family and prosperous home of both Li and Miao ethnic groups.
5 - Changjiang-Dongfang: Informed choice, quality of care project in RH service.
