Mobilizing for Global Action Week

“Education as a Human Right” is the theme of the 2007 Global Action Week (23- 29 April). UNESCO is once again mobilizing education ministers and stakeholders worldwide for this annual campaign in favour of Education for All.

Global Action Week is organized by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), a UNESCO partner. Actors at all levels of education are urged to sign up and take part in order to promote Education for all worldwide.

“Everyone has the right to education” according to Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The right-based approach is at the very heart of UNESCO’s work in education, and UNESCO promotes the right to education with emphasis on inclusion, lifelong learning and non-discrimination.
