European Conference on parenting support
Riga, Latvia, 25-26 May 2008

Organised by
the European Region of the World Family Organization (WFO)
in co-operation with
the Union of Latvian Large Family Associations
and with the support of
the Latvian Ministry for children and Family Affairs and the
Riga Municipality

The Conference concentrated on:

Parenting support in Europe. An overview of developments and perspectives
Parenting support and family policy measures
Parenting programmes. Major findings and policy implications
Positive parenting in the best interest of the child, a Council of Europe project

Different workshops focused on good practices :
e.g. Programmes of parenting support for parents ; Services for parents and
children ; parenting : an element in preventing the risk of social exclusion, ...

The Conference took place in Riga Council, Old Riga, Ratslaukuns 1.
