AIWF Conference 2007
Powering The Future:
Arab Business Women in a Modern Economy

December 2007, Dubai International Financial Centre

AIWF will be holding a conference at the Dubai International Finance Centre on 10 and 11 December 2007 when the venue will be kindly hosted by Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, Governor of DIFC. The official opening of the conference shall be addressed by HH Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy and Planning UAE and AIWF Founder Board member.

The conference will be arranged over one and a half days and will include on Day Two a workshop arranged in conjunction with Dr Nasser Saidi, Executive Director, Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance.

The conference will continue our examination of the AIWF 2007 theme ‘Globalisation, Trade and Entrepreneurship’ and will focus on the key elements for economic success. We plan to feature the aspects of creating of an enabling environment for the development of private enterprise and how the challenges and barriers may be overcome for greater female participation in the Arab economies.

The event will run under the title of ‘Promoting Business Links Between the City of Dubai, the International Community and the Arab World’. It will be a progression of the review of the important themes that we have already brought to attention this year when in January, we held a Roundtable at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, entitled ‘Women as Engines of Economic Growth – Moving Forward’ and in March when we organised a successful International Women’s Day conference on the theme of ‘Women’s Entrepreneurship as a Driver for Growth and Stability’.

A Special Conference Dinner will be held on the evening of 10 December to which we will be inviting Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein to be the Guest of Honour.

To confirm your attendance at the AIWF Conference please contact the Arab International Women’s Forum, either by fax to + 44 207 409 7575 or by email to info@aiwfonline.com.
