Balneário Camboriú, May 5th, 2006.

Dr. Deisi Kusztra and Dr. Diana Elisa arrived at Balneário at 11:00, greeted by Mrs. Leila, Social Worker from the Municipality Secretariat for Health, in the City Hall. They immediately started the meeting with the Mayor, Eng. Rubens Spernau, and the Manager for the City’s Health Fund, Dr. Celso Golin.

During the meeting, the proposed plant was presented and the following topics were discussed: the construction’s cost, financing and required time, hiring and materials included, durability, staff and doctors training and structural details, as well as changes to include an Orthopedics section. The need of expanding the number of beds was informed, since the initial data did not predict the use of the local Health System by bordering municipalities and so the System would have to comprehend citizens of the neighboring towns and high-season tourists.

The Mayor elucidated facts about the city’s financial participation, as well as the present hospital situation and the capital injection in the Hospital currently serving the city. Finally, the Mayor requested for international funding sources that could contribute with the Project’s funding.

After the Mayor left the meeting, project alterations were discussed, and the Manager committed himself to forward data on the city comprehending the seasonal population and the inclusion of the Orthopedics section, due to the region’s particularities.

After the lunch break, Dr. Deisi, Dr. Diana, Dr. Celso and Mrs. Leila met with the Municipality’s Health Board to clear doubts on the Project and inform about the financing, construction time and the System’s functioning, to which they had great support. Dr. Deisi committed herself to inform probable international financing sources which could collaborate to the Project and so closed her visit, at about 5:00 PM.
